HOWELL, NJ — Registration is now open for the 2026 Youth Law Enforcement Boot Camp,sponsored by the Howell Township Police Department and the Howell Police Athletic League.
The program is for students entering sixth, seventh and eighth grades for the 2026-27 school year and is designed to introduce kids to the different aspects of law enforcement.
All cadets will have the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of law enforcement functions as well as the various types of emergency services and training required to become a police officer.
The program is scheduled for July 27-Aug. 1 plus Aug. 3 and 4, with the hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27-31, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 1, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3 and graduation on Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. as part of National Night Out.
There is a mandatory meeting for parents and cadets at 6 p.m. on July 2 at the Howell PAL, 115 Kent Road.
The fee is $100 and is nonrefundable if your child is accepted into the program.
