The brush collection aims to assist residents with recent storm debris cleanup, township officials said.

Heavy rain drenched parts of New Jersey after historically high temperatures came over the July 4th weekend.

On Monday, this rain led to flooding throughout much of Monmouth County, including at a local hospital.

In response to the recent storm activity, Howell Township will be conducting a town-wide brush pickup to help residents with storm debris cleanup.

Residents are being asked to place all brush at the curb no later than Sunday, July 12.

Collection will begin in Zone A and continue throughout the township, working from zone to zone until all areas have been completed.

"Thank you for your patience and cooperation as our crews work to clean up the community," township officials said. "Any questions, please contact the DPW office at 732-938-4500 x 2450."
