• Overnight Shooting Investigation Begins in Howell, Ends With Heavy Police Presence in Lakewood (shorenewsnetwork.com) — An overnight shooting investigation that began in Howell and involved a reportedly stolen vehicle led to a heavy police presence along the Howell–Lakewood border near County Line Road, though no injuries were reported. Investigators from both towns are still piecing together where the gunfire occurred, how the stolen vehicle was involved, and whether anyone will face charges, so residents should expect continued police activity in the area.
• Mass recognizing Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen anniversary highlights Eucharist and evangelization (thedialog.org) — Howell residents may be interested to know that Father Peter James Alindogan, pastor of St. Veronica in town, recently preached at a special Mass in Peoria honoring Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. In his homily, he highlighted Sheen's deep devotion to the Eucharist and urged Catholics to carry their faith beyond church walls into everyday life and service.
