New Jacqueline M. Wilentz Breast Center at Kimball Medical Center Now Open and Accepting Patients

One in eight women will develop breast cancer during her lifetime, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, but women who perform monthly breast self-exams and take the necessary precautions can improve their chances of detecting breast cancer early. As part of its ongoing mission to improve the health of the community it serves, Kimball Medical Center recently opened the renowned Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center, bringing the best in breast health to Ocean County.

The Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center was introduced at Monmouth Medical Center – Kimball’s sister hospital – in 1994 as a center of excellence with all breast care modalities under one umbrella, providing patients with compassionate and efficient service using state-of-the-art technology. The nationally renowned center, modeled after the nation's most highly regarded breast centers, offers a comprehensive array of preventive, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative services.

The Jacqueline M. Wilentz Breast Center at Kimball Medical Center, located adjacent to the hospital at 500 River Avenue, Suite 200, offers screening mammography, the breast cancer high risk program and DEXA bone density testing. All imaging exams are performed by experienced mammography technologists and are interpreted by Monmouth Medical Center’s dedicated breast imagers. A physician referral is not required for a screening mammogram.
