September Performances at the Monmouth County Library

Sunday concerts return to the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in September!

Jazz resumes with a concert by the Houston Person Quartet. In addition, Tim McLoone and the Shirleys will perform the music of Carole King, including the entire Tapestry album, at Library Headquarters. 

And check out these Saturday performances: Howell Township Library will host a musical tribute to Les Paul and Mary Ford, and Eastern Branch in Shrewsbury will offer an acoustic concert by singer songwriter Kevin John Allen.

A Musical Tribute to the Great Les Paul & Mary Ford

Tom Doyle & Sandy Cory will perform the tribute show to Les Paul that is performed on Monday evenings at the Iridium Jazz Club in NYC. Doyle, a master guitar builder and musician, has worked with Les Paul, Al Dimeola, George Benson, Sting and more. Doyle will also tell stories of his 40-year friendship with the legendary Les Paul.

Jazz tenor saxophonist Houston Person performs in concert. As a result of the resurgence in interest in the groove jazz of the 1960s, Houston is thought of as one of the fathers of Acid Jazz.

Singer/Songwriter Kevin John Allen in Concert

 Performing a concert of acoustic country, reggae and down home American music, singer/songwriter Allen has written over 200 songs, and recorded CDs Dark Songs Written on Black Guitars and his latest, Life's Lonely Rodeo.

Tapestry: Tim McLoone & The Shirleys Perform the Music of Carole King

Carole King’s Grammy-winning Tapestry album, released in 1971, remains one of the biggest selling albums of all time with more than 25 million copies sold. Pianist Tim McLoone and The Shirleys will perform the entire album (which includes the hits “It’s Too Late” and “I Feel the Earth Move”) along with King’s other music. King was the author of many 60s and 70s hits, including “Up on the Roof” and “The Locomotion.”
