Armed Robber's ID Still Sought In Howell: Police

Police are pursuing tips but they could still use more help in finding the man who held up this convenience store at gunpoint.

HOWELL, NJ — Two weeks after a man in a mask demanded cash from a convenience store clerk at gunpoint, Howell Township police are seeking more tips to help them identify and locate the perpetrator.

This thug drives a Nissan Maxima, likes Marlboro Reds, and sticking a gun in the face of convenience store employees during the early morning," police said in a post on Facebook.

The incident happened about 5:40 a.m. June 21 at the Country Farms at 947 Route 524, Detective Sgt. Christian Antunez said.

The robber is described as a white and in his 20s or 30s, about 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a gray baseball cap with the brand "Stussy" written on the front and a long-sleeved gray shirt, dark gray sweatpants and tan work boots, Antunez said. He was holding a black bag, possibly a tool bag of some kind, with a red interior, and was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun, he said. The robber held the clerk at gunpoint and demanded cash and a pack of Marlboro cigarettes from the clerk, stuffed them in the bag and ran out, Antunez said.

The robber was driving a 2000-2003 four-door Nissan Maxima, tan or gold in color, with damage to the area where the front driver’s side door meets the fender and possibly more damage to the fender itself, he said.

No shots were fired, no assault took place and no one was injured in the robbery, Antunez said.
