The Battle of Monmouth, June 28, 1778, was a significant turning point in many ways.  The American forces stood up to the British, and the Americans' show of strength persuaded the British to undertake a new plan. Although technically a draw, it secured George Washington as commander-in-chief for the rest of the war.  Presented by Dr. David Martin.
