Car Wash For A Good Cause In Howell

Howell First Aid and Rescue Squad No. 1 cadets will wash cars Sunday for donations to help support EMT training for the cadets.

HOWELL, NJ — Get a clean car and do a good deed Sunday for young people in Howell training to be EMT responders.

Cadets of the Howell First Aid and Rescue Squad No. 1 will have a benefit car wash on Sunday, July 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the squad building at 16 Kent Road in Howell.

Donations are welcome and will go toward EMT school for the cadets.

The members of Howell Township First Aid and Rescue Squad No. 1 respond to all 911 medical emergencies at homes, businesses, schools, and public places within the township, its website says.

The squad also performs extrication at motor vehicle accidents, stands by with local fire companies for structure fires, and assists in special rescue assignments.

The squad prides itself with being the first squad in Monmouth County to train members and perform extrication in the field. It is also one of the few squads that utilizes an incident command system for all motor vehicle accidents and fire calls, the website says.

The squad is continuously seeking new members. While surrounding towns are closing down their volunteer services due to lack of membership, we are always trying to make our "family" grow, the site says.
