The Bariatric Surgery team at Community Medical Center will talk about the importance of focusing less on short-term goals, like reducing the size of your waist, and focusing more on long-term goals, like reducing your risk of Type 2 Diabetes, sleep apnea and hypertension. Bariatric surgeons Frank J. Borao, MD, Steven J. Binenbaum, MD, Gurdeep Matharoo, MD, Anil Pahuja, MD and James V. Pasquariello, MD, will talk about the emotional and mental benefits of weight loss, who is a candidate for a weight loss program, and the different treatment options offered at Community Medical Center, including gastric band surgery, gastric bypass surgery and gastric sleeve surgery.
The Bariatric Surgery Overview and Support Group will be held at Community Medical Center, located at 99 Route 37 West in Toms River, and will continue to meet there on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
