Don't Drink And Drive: Monmouth County DWI Checkpoint Announced
Breaking: The announcement of checkpoints is required by law; officers will be looking for those under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

HOWELL, NJ — If you are planning to go out with friends this weekend, don't drink and drive. Police will be on the lookout.
In addition, the Monmouth County DWI Task Force will be out, and will conduct a DWI checkpoint to detect drivers under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, authorities said.
The checkpoint will be run from 11 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday on Route 9 northbound in Howell, according to Brielle Police Chief Michael W. Palmer, task forcecoordinator.

Task force members and officers from the Howell Police Department will pull vehicles from the northbound lanes into the Regal Plaza parking lot to determine drivers' sobriety, Palmer said.
