DWI Checkpoint In Monmouth County Friday, April 19

If you have plans to be out drinking alcohol or will be otherwise imbibing, be sure you don't drive afterward.

HOWELL, NJ — If you're planning to be out Friday celebrating spring or the warming weather, local law enforcement in Monmouth County has a warning: Don't drink and drive.

The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will conduct a DWI checkpoint to detect drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs on Friday night in Howell.

Allenhurst Police Chief Michael B. Schneider, the task force coordinator, said the checkpoint will be conducted from 11 p.m. Friday into the early hours of Saturday morning on Route 9 northbound in the township.

Task force members and officers from the Howell Township Police Department will pull vehicles from the northbound lanes into the Regal Plaza parking lot to educate drivers on the issues of Driving While Intoxicated/impaired and determine drivers' sobriety, Schneider said.
