Put on a Happy Face in this year’sspring musical ‘Bye Bye Birdie’

“Bye Bye Birdie,” with book by Michael Stewart, lyrics by Lee Adams and music by Charles Strouse,originally opened on Broadway in 1960. The story begins when songwriter Albert Peterson played by8th grader Paul Ternosky finds out rock star Conrad Birdie played by 8th grader Jordan Mitchell hasbeen drafted. Peterson believes his career in the business is over. His secretary, Rosie Alvarez,played by 8th grader Natalie Lorenzo invents a scheme to score one last chart-topping hit. BeforeConrad ships out, he will have the rocker sing Albert’s new song “One Last Kiss” on national television– and bestow his “one last kiss” upon one of his adoring fans....read more
