Everyone Deserves Representation

Chris Smith's discriminatory views prevent him from representing all of his constituents. It's time for new leadership and Josh Welle.

Representative (noun) – a person chosen or appointed to act or speak for another or others. The most basic definition of a congressional representative is someone who acts in the best interest of those they are representing. They don’t have to agree with all of their constituents, but they do have to work to ensure their basic rights and let the voices of voters be heard.

His latest statements along with his supported policies of the past 30 plus years have shown that Chris Smith of NJ4 doesn’t represent the LGBTQ community. From not viewing them as people fit to raise children to not supporting language that would protect lesbians and transgendered people in the Violence Against Women Act, Smith has made it apparent that he doesn’t value the rights and freedoms of everyone he claims to represent.

Josh Welle has been an outspoken advocate of the LGBTQ community. He has defended the rights of all peoples from this district and has been unapologetic in supporting the idea that everyone should be treated equally under the law regardless of race, gender, economic status, religion or sexual orientation. Welle is a leader who will look to represent everyone rather than disenfranchise certain groups.

Everyone in district 4 who believes that all of our neighbors and friends deserve to be treated as full citizens needs to vote for Josh Welle in November. Until Smith proves that he is willing to represent all of us, he does not deserve to represent any of us.
