Stewart Vaughan, 23, was last seen in Howell on June 20; he may be in Lacey, family said.

HOWELL, NJ — Family members and friends are searching for a man with ties to Howell and Lacey who has been missing since last Wednesday.

Stewart Vaughan, 23, has been missing since Wednesday, June 20, his aunt, Louise Mary O'Brien, said. He was last seen wearing a navy blue hat with a NY Yankees logo, black Addidas pants and black sneakers, and possibly a dark blue sleeveless shirt. Vaughan has many tatoos on his arms, legs and chest, including a large tattoo with pink roses with the name "Joan Hicks" on his right arm.

There was a report of a possible sighting on Saturday evening in Howell, she said. A man fitting his description was seen getting off a southbound bus in Howell near the Walmart at Lanes Pond Road about 6 p.m., she said.

He was last seen in Toms River on June 20, and his phone last pinged GPS in Newark on Saturday. His family believes either the battery is dead or he sold it.

"He definitely is not thinking logically and perhaps does not want to be found for his own reasons," his aunt said. "He has made no attempt to contact anyone to say he is ok; he has always contacted his aunt or grandmother in the past in some way no matter what."
