Farmingdale Pet Store Offering Free Rabies Shots
If your pet needs the shot, here's your chance. They are first come, first served.
Farmingdale, NJ — If your pet is in need of a rabies shot, The Hungry Puppy will be hosting a free rabies clinic on Sunday, Oct. 2, to mark World Rabies Day.
The clinic, from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, is sponsored by pet food company Royal Canin and is open to both cats and dogs, the store said. There are no appointments necessary; the rabies clinic will operate on a first come, first served basis. There is a limit of two animals vaccinated per household.
World Rabies Day was launched in 2007 to bring awareness to the health impact of both human and animal rabies. According to the Global Alliance for Rabies Control, rabies is 100 percent preventable; all it takes is a vaccination. By vaccinating your pets, you are not only protecting them from the disease, but you are also protecting yourself and your family.
