Fire Closes Route 33 In Howell: NJDOT
Howell police said the closure will be in place for a few more hours and motorists should avoid the area.
HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township police say Route 33 will remain closed in both directions from the Route 33/34 juncture to Colts Neck Road for a few more hours as crews remain on the scene of a residential fire.
The state Department of Transportation tweeted about the road closure about 1 p.m. saying the fire was in a commercial structure.
Howell police, however, said the fire is in a home. There have been no reported injuries, police said.

Detours are in place in the area and there is heavy traffic, police said.
At least one has said the fire has been brought under control, but the state DOT tweet that Route 33 is closed in both directions from Route 35/Colts Neck Road east was issued later than those reports.
