Former CBA Teacher From Howell Charged With Molesting Relative

Breaking: The assaults date back to 2007, according to the complaint.

HOWELL, NJ — A Howell Township man has been charged with molesting a relative in assaults that began 10 years ago, according to a criminal complaint.

The man, Joseph J. Prioli, 47, was a teacher at Christian Brothers Academy for several years, at one point serving as the school's director of technology, according to a newsletter distributed by the school. A report in the Asbury Park Press said Prioli taught at the school for 15 years before resigning last year.

The criminal complaint released by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's office said Prioli was arrested by Howell police on Dec. 30. He is accused of orally and digitally penetrating the relative, who is between the ages of 13 and 16, according to the complaint. The assaults began Jan. 1, 2007, according to the complaint.

Prioli is charged with aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute in lieu of $500,000 bail, no 10 percent option, according to the complaint.
