Georgian Court Golf Classic and Scholarship Fundraiser a Success
Golfers, donors raise scholarships for Georgian Court University
Georgian Court University raised more than $135,000 at its 2016 Scholarship Golf Classic, held in May at the Spring Lake Country Club. The Lakewood-based Catholic college honored Meridian Health with its Corporate Service Award and retired GCU President Rosemary E. Jeffries, RSM, Ph.D., '72, with the Joseph E. Buckelew Civic Service Award. More than 100 golfers participated in the fundraiser for student scholarships. The event marked the 21st such fundraiser for the university, and drew supporters from across Monmouth and Ocean counties.
“Without the generosity of Georgian Court, Meridian Health, and scholarship donors, I would not have had the opportunity to be standing here right now,” GCU nursing scholar Brian Miller told donors.
Sponsors for this year’s even included the Fontenilli Family, New Jersey Natural Gas, J. Knipper and Company Healthcare Marketing Solutions, Meridian Health, SEI, DW Smith, Regency Management Group and Daybreak Marketing Services.
