Greenville Students Celebrate 100 Days

School finds creative way to celebrate milestone

It was a very special day at Greenville School on Tuesday as the students celebrated not only Valentine's Day, but also the 100th day of the school year.

Principal Lynn Coco said in order to recognize the day students found their own ways to show their appreciation. In Elyse Bloucher's first grade class the students showed rapid maturity as they dressed like they were 100 years old.

Whether it was walking with the help of a cane, wearing reading glasses or sporting grey hair and curlers the students were wise beyond their years for at least one day in class. They also wrote stories about what it would be like to reach triple digits in age and played senior bingo as well.

Coco said it was a fun way to celebrate a big day in the building. "The children were very excited to celebrate this milestone, as they have been keeping track of the school days since our first day of first grade," she said. "The 100th day of school was a wonderful experience the children will always remember."
