Haven Bridge Road Project, PBA Contract On Howell Council Agenda

HOWELL, NJ - The five-member Howell Township Council is set to discuss the ratification of the local PBA contract, award a contract to a municipal prosecutor and authorize the resurfacing of the Havens Bridge Road project at its next meeting on Feb. 9, according to municipal documents.

Here are the highlights of the agenda:

• A resolution for the acceptance of the resurfacing of Havens Bridge Road project is on the table. According to the agenda, Howell Township contracted with Meco, Inc. for the program in the amount of $189,184.00. The township has also received a Community Development Block Grant for the project in the amount of $130,400.00. The township has received a request for a close out change order for the decrease in project cost, from the original contract amount of $189,184.00 to an adjusted total of $181,478.60 for a net decrease of $7,705.40. Construction is slated to take place between County Route 524 (Adelphia Road) and the Manasquan River bridge. The proposed work will include minor concrete curb and aprons, drainage repairs, pavement subbase repairs and width resurfacing.

• The council is scheduled to authorize the ratification of terms and conditions of the contract between Howell Township and Police Benevolent Association Local 228 through Dec. 31, 2023.

• A professional services contract is up to be awarded to John Lane, Esq. as Conflict/Alternate Municipal Prosecutor for 2021, to be paid $250 per day.

• Members are slated to be appointed to the Mobile Home Rent Control & Stabilization Board and Municipal Alliance at the Feb. 10 meeting.
