Howell 2nd Of July Concert, Fireworks Postponed
Safety concerns amid the extreme heat prompted the postponement.
HOWELL, NJ — The extreme heat blanketing the area has prompted Howell Township officials to postpone Thursday night's 2nd of July concert and fireworks.
"The expected high temperatures create potentially dangerous conditions, especially for young children, older adults, and individuals with underlying health conditions," Howell officials said. "The safety of our attendees, volunteers, vendors, performers, first responders, and Township staff is our highest priority."
"We understand this is disappointing, and we share that disappointment. However, we believe postponing the celebration is the most responsible decision given the forecast," officials said. "We will announce the rescheduled celebration as soon as those arrangements have been finalized."

"We appreciate your understanding and patience, and we look forward to celebrating with our community soon under safer conditions," officials said. "Thank you for your continued support, and please stay safe and take precautions during the extreme heat."
