Howell Child Luring: Sketch Of Man Who Gave Gifts Released
Breaking: The man offered Christmas gifts to two children playing in their yard, but took off when their mother appeared, police said.

HOWELL, NJ -- Howell Township police released a composite sketch Friday evening of a man sought in connection with what they believe was a child luring attempt.
Police were called to a home on Pitch Pine Lane Dec. 12 and told the two children, ages 8 and 11, were playing in the front yard of their home when a black newer-model Hyundai Sonata pulled up in front of the house, Detective Sgt. Christian Antunez said.
The driver, who was alone in the car and described as a male about 30 years old with "light brown" skin, asked the children if they wanted Christmas gifts. The man then handed several gifts to the 11-year-old, including a coloring book and an Amazon gift card. As the driver was giving the gifts, the mother of the children came out of the house and saw the man talking to the children. When the man saw her, he sped off without saying anything more.

"Over the past week, detectives followed up on a few leads, canvassed the neighborhood and reviewed digital and electronic records and data from various sources," police said. "This also included the interview of a private investigator who was in the neighborhood (not on that date), and tracking down potential college students or friends/family of one of the residents that may have lived and/or attended school in Delaware. As of now, the subject has not been identified. The investigation will continue."
