HOWELL, NJ — A doctor's office in a strip mall in Howell Twp. was evacuated Monday morning due to a gas leak.
The well-known strip mall is called Quail Creek Plaza and it's located at the intersection of Ramtown-Greenville Road and Newtons Corner Road. At about 8:30 Monday morning, tenants in the shopping plaza called 911 to report an odor of natural gas. Firefighters arrived and determined that there was an issue with a leak connection on the roof of the strip mall, said a spokesman for New Jersey Natural Gas, which services the area.
The doctor's office there, which had about 15 people in it at the time, was briefly evacuated. NJ Natural Gas was also called to the scene and they repaired the leak.
