Howell, Farmingdale Memorial Day Events Honor Fallen

The annual parade honors those who have given their lives in combat for the United States.

If you are looking to honor the men and women who have given their lives in service for the country, Howell and Farmingdale have their commemorations set for Monday.

The Howell Memorial Day remembrance service is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the former township municipal building on Preventorium Road. It is followed by a service in Farmingdale at 11:30 a.m. at Lutz Park on Main Street.

Both services are organized by the Howell Township Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9691 and its Ladies Auxiliary along with Farmingdale American Legion Post 178.

The services will be followed later Monday by the 46th annual Memorial Day parade on Main Street in Farmingdale.

Streets will be closed in Farmingdale for the parade beginning at noon and will reopen at 2 p.m., Mayor James Daley said.
