Howell, Freehold Regional Change Delay To School Closure

Friday morning snowfall, slushy conditions lead to decision.

HOWELL, NJ -- Students in the Howell Township and Freehold Regional High School districts have been given a snow day Friday, the districts announced.

The schools initially had planned to open on a delayed schedule, but increasingly slippery conditions have led authorities to close schools for the day.

The snowfall that began around 5 a.m. has increased in intensity in several areas and with temperatures hovering around freezing, has turned streets and sidewalks into a slippery mess.
