Howell Glides Past Marlboro, Remains Unbeaten

Rebels notch highest scoring output of the year in home victory.

The Howell Rebels boys lacrosse team seems to be getting better and better.

The Rebels (5-0) won again, Thursday afternoon, as they rolled over the Marlboro Mustangs (0-5), 14-3, at Howell High School.

Sophomore Alec Dambach lead the way for the Rebels, scoring four times and adding three assists in their biggest margin of victory of the season.

Ryan King and Rob Hart each scored two goals and Tyler Ott, Kevin Scott, James Stagg, Ryan Dambach and Ben Talcott each added a goal of their own.

Ryan Dambach also notched five assists and his six points were second only to his younger brother.

Doug Quinn lead the team with six ground balls, and Max Fontaine was right behind him with five as the Rebels controlled the game.

The Rebels jumped out to a 7-1 lead at halftime as they continued to out-score the Mustangs, 7-2, in the second half.

Hart went four-for-six on faceoffs for Howell.

Goalie Nick Schwarz made seven saves in his fifth win of the season.

Of their five wins, Howell has scored at least 11 goals in four games. Their closest match-up of the year was their 11-10 overtime victory at East Brunswick to open the season.

This afternoon, the Rebels will have one of their toughest tests of the season as they hit the road to take on Red Bank Catholic (2-2) at 3:45 p.m.
