Howell HS National Honor Society Welcomes New Inductees
The ceremony recognized dozens of Howell students for their character and leadership as well as academics.
HOWELL, NJ -- Howell Township High School honored the achievements of a number of students Tuesday evening with its annual National Honor Society induction ceremonies.
Dozens of students were in attendance for the induction ceremonies for the society, which has a rigorous qualifying list.
Students must have a cumulative 3.75 GPA; have performed volunteer work in the community as well as demonstrated a willingness to help in school; show leadership in class and activities, and must have seven references attesting to their character, which the district defines in this way:

“Character” - This attribute truly distinguishes one person from others and is achieved and not received. A person with true character demonstrates the qualities of reliability, responsibility, honesty, sincerity, and courtesy. In school, he or she cooperates willingly and adheres to school regulations.
