Howell Woman, 3 Others Injured In Brick Twp Crash

A Freehold man suffered head and internal injuries; all four were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, per Brick police.

HOWELL, NJ – Four individuals were injured in a Sunday evening crash in which one vehicle turned into the path of another on Herbertsville Road, according to Brick police.

Kasandra Diaz-Torres, 22, of Howell, as well as passengers Michael Roman, 25, of Jackson and Milton Perez, 23, of Freehold were all injured in the crash that occurred around 7:50 p.m. in front of St. Paul's Church, Brick Sgt. Keith Donnelly said. The driver of the other vehicle, Lisa DeFeo-Ester, 38, of Somerset, was also injured.

Perez suffered head and internal injuries, while the other three suffered injuries to extremities. All four individuals were rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune by Brick Police EMS, Point Boro First Aid Squad and paramedics from Hackensack Meridian Hospital.

According to Donnelly, an investigation into the incident showed DeFeo-Ester, who was driving a red 2017 Buick Envision, pulled out of the church parking lot into the path of the black 2018 Toyota Camry driven by Diaz-Torres, who was heading south on Herbertsville Road and had the right of way.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed or has information related to the crash is asked to call Ptl. David Thergesen at (732) 451-2037.
