Howell Officials Issue Blizzard, April The Giraffe Reminders
Breaking: Recycling pickups for Tuesday have been rescheduled.

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township officials are issuing reminders to residents as they prepare for the oncoming winter storm.
The National Weather Service's Mount Holly office has issued a blizzard warning for Monmouth County (along with Ocean, Middlesex and several others) beginning at 8 p.m. Monday that is expected to remain in place through 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The blizzard warning means there will be falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibility that will lead to whiteout conditions, "making travel extremely dangerous," the National Weather Service warning said.

- Recycling pick-ups scheduled for Zone B on Tuesday have been postponed to Saturday, March 18.
- Remove your vehicles from all roadways so plows can effectively remove snow. Besides it being prohibited by ordinance, its disrespectful to your neighbors. You will be ticketed and towed.
- Do not call the police to ask when your roads will be plowed. DPW is aware. Primary roads are completed first followed by secondary. Interior roadways are done last. They will eventually be done. Be patient!! No need to criticize how long it took for them to plow your street.
- Stay off the roads unless it's absolutely necessary.
- There may be power outages. JCP&L has already contacted us. You can follow and report outages on their Facebook page. Click here.
- Our emergency operations center (EOC) will be activated. We will keep you updated on any significant events
- April the Giraffe is expected to give birth to a calf.
The last reminder, tacked on to the end of the post on Facebook, elicited some laughs from residents following the police department's Facebook page.
"You just made my day!" one woman wrote.
