Howell Opening Cooling Centers Amid Heat Wave

HOWELL, NJ — If you lack air conditioning and need relief amid the high temperatures expected Sunday and Monday, cooling centers are being opened in Howell.

The Howell Township Office of Emergency Management said the centers will be open Sunday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The centers are the following:

Ardena Baptist Church
593 Adelphia Farmingdale Road (Route 524)

St. Veronica's Church
4219 Route 9 North

Open Door Bible Church
521 Squankum Road (Route 547)

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for much of New Jersey, with the heat index forecasted to hit 104 in Monmouth County.
