Howell Police Billboard Warns Against Bringing Drugs Into Town

If there was any question about the message they've been trying to deliver, the billboard eradicates any doubts.

HOWELL, NJ — Some towns gain a reputation for their law enforcement by word-of-mouth, whether it's being tough on drunk driving, expired vehicle registration or inspections or other particular crimes.

Howell Township wants you to know its police department is tough on drugs. But it's not simply relying on word-of-mouth: it's putting the message out loud and clear on a billboard.

The billboard, on Route 9 north as you enter Howell, carries the message:

"Thinking of bringing drugs into Howell Township? THINK AGAIN!"

The billboard was a collaborative effort between the Howell Police Department and Howell Municipal Alliance, the police department said in a post on its Facebook page.

"Featured is Officer Richards (Crime Suppression Unit) and Officer R. Hurley (patrol)," the post promoting the billboard said, along with the hashtags "#thinkagain #notinourtown #startsnitchin #youllbecaught"
