Howell Police Make Arrest Following Chase

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township police said they have arrested a person following a car chase that ended in Lakewood on Tuesday afternoon.

Police released few details in a Facebook post shortly before 2 p.m., saying only that the person was a 43-year-old Newark resident.

The person was being taken to police headquarters and more information will be released later, Howell police said.

The Lakewood Scoop reported two people were arrested; one was a man who was the initial person Howell police were following, and the second was a woman who reportedly picked up the man after he abandoned his car and ran, the report said.

Information was not immediately released on where the chase began or what prompted police to follow the man.
