Howell Police, Schools Holding Private Safety Forum For Parents

The event is for parents of district children only and registration is required, police said. No video or photos will be allowed.

HOWELL, NJ — Parents who have questions about the safety and security measures in place in Howell Township's schools will have the opportunity to ask those questions at a forum on Tuesday.

Registration is required to participate in the forum, which was announced by Howell Township Police.

The event is closed to the public, police said.

Speaking at the forum will be Howell Police Chief Andrew J. Kudrick Jr., Howell Schools Superintendent Joseph Isola, along with members of the Howell Board of Education, township officials, staff members and the police officers assigned at each of Howell's schools.

"This forum is being held for the parents of district children currently attending grades K-8 ONLY," the announcement said. "This is your opportunity as parents to learn about safety and security measures in place within all Howell schools."

A question-and-answer session and an opportunity to meet the police officers who work in the schools will be part of the event, police said. Light refreshments will be served.

This forum, for parents and guardians of kindergarten through eighth-grade students, is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Howell Middle School North, 501 Squankum Yellowbrook Road. A separate forum for parents of high school students is in the works, police said.

You must register to participate. Click here to go to the registration form. If you are not pre-registered, you will not be permitted into the forum. Identification will be checked at the entry.

Check-in begins at 6 p.m., and the doors will close and be secured at 7 p.m. No one will permitted to enter once the doors are closed.

Videotaping and photographing the forum will be prohibited, police said.
