Howell Police Seek Help With Identity Of Credit Card Thief

The man picked up a credit card the victim left behind and charged hundreds on it, police said.

Howell, NJ -- The Howell Township Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a credit card theft/fraud that occurred in May, police said Tuesday.

The incident occurred on May 5 about 7 p.m., said Detective Sgt. Christian Antunez said.

The victim accidentally left his credit card behind at the “returns” counter in Home Depot, Antunez said. The suspect, who entered the store moments later with his two young children, was captured by the store’s surveillance video picking up the credit card, he said. The suspect then used that credit card minutes later to fraudulently purchase hundreds of dollars in merchandise.

Howell police supplied a photo of the man whom the department is trying to identify, Antunez said.
