Current board members MaryRose Malley and Jennifer Okerson are being challenged by Scott Jeffrey, Marc Parisi, Angel D. Sanchez and Joseph Tate. Board President Timothy P. O'Brien, whose term expires this year, did not seek re-election.
Malley is completing her first term on the board and has two children in the school district. Okerson, who was elected last year to a one-year term to replace Jeanne DePompo, who resigned, is seeking her first full term.
Jeffrey, who holds a PhD, is an associate professor at Monmouth University.
Sanchez filled DePompo's seat from June to December 2017 following her resignation but lost to Okerson last November. He is seeking a full term and is very active in the community groups.
Parisi has been in the news for his battle with Xscape Theaters and the Howell Planning Board over noise issues.
Tate is the CEO of Fairy Glen Tate & Co., which sells gifts and collectibles and he has two children.
