Howell Sets Sept 11 Remembrance Ceremony For Tuesday
The ceremony will honor the five Howell residents who were among the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks 17 years ago.

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township will mark the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and honor the memories of those lost in the attacks on Tuesday.
The service is set for 6 p.m. at the memorial, 251 Preventorium Road in Howell.
Nearly 3,000 people died in the attacks on the Twin Towers, including nearly 400 first responders and five people with ties to Howell Township: John Lennon Jr., Colin McArthur, John Rhodes, Joseph Sacerdote and Alan Wisnewski.

The memorial, built in 2005. has five columns, each representing one of the five Howell victims. They meet at the top of the structure at a stone carving in the shape of the Pentagon.
