Howell Urgent Care Clinic Offers Coronavirus Testing
The testing is not free but provides an option for those who don't want to sit in line at a free site waiting and hoping to get in.
HOWELL, NJ — People who do not want to wait in line hoping to make the cut at one of the free drive-through testing centers can get tested for the new coronavirus in Howell.
Central Jersey Urgent Care is offering testing at a drive-through site it has set up at Howell Middle School North, 501 Squankum Yellowbrook Road, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The testing is not free; they go through insurance and charge the urgent care copay for the tests. Central Jersey Urgent Care accepts most major insurance plans, with the exceptions being United Community Plan and GHI, the office said.

The urgent care expects to test about 160 people on Wednesday, and has been receiving an increased allotment of tests to reach more people.

As of Tuesday afternoon, there were 3,675 positive tests for COVID-19 in New Jersey, and 44 people have died from it, according to the state health department. There have been 288 positive tests in Monmouth County, according to state officials. Monmouth County's town-by-town breakdown had 17 cases in Howell as of Monday, and was not yet updated as of 5:20 p.m. Tuesday. Read more: NJ Coronavirus Updates: Here's What You Need To Know
To be eligible for testing, you must have symptoms of the virus, be a health care worker, or have had direct exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
To get tested, you must must preregister. The testing is conducted outside a patient's car or in a tent so there is no possibility of cross-contamination.
