The Ice Cream Emergency Bus will be "saving lives, one scoop at a time," serving up fun at catered events of all kinds.

HOWELL, NJ — Have you ever wished you could put an ice cream parlor in your backyard specifically for a special event?

You may be able to do just that soon: a Howell Township woman is opening a full-service mobile ice cream company that is the answer to your wishes.

The Ice Cream Emergency Bus "is disguised as a whimsical rescue vehicle where we rush to your event to 'save' your guests from an ice cream emergency by bringing super premium gourmet ice cream and toppings," said Susan Dorfman, who is opening the local franchise.

There are several different packages available to fit a variety of needs and budgets. The company has more than 40 ice cream and sorbet flavors to choose from for the event.

"We can cater any type of event imaginable. We also have memorable keepsakes like a custom doctors chart that the guests can sign and write notes on," she said. Guests are served inside the bus, which is climate-controlled for any season.

Dorfman said she anticipates opening in March.

The mobile ice cream parlor company was started by a family in Connecticut; Dorfman's franchise will be the first one outside Connecticut.
