HOWELL — The Howell Women’s Club will host its annual Open House and Membership Tea at 7:30 p.m. September 13, 2016 at the Taunton School, 41 Taunton Drive, Howell. The club celebrates over 50 years as a community service organization. The event offers an opportunity to meet the members of the club and learn about its activities. Women from the Howell, Jackson, Lakewood and Freehold areas are invited to attend, bring their friends and relax. Refreshments will be served. This year the guest speaker will be Anna Ornstein, a member of the Howell community who is involved in many community and charity projects.

The Howell Women’s Club is a social and charitable organization of local women from the Howell area. Meetings are held monthly. The club’s community and charitable projects are planned and discussed and short informational programs are presented.

The club has raised an appreciable sum for local charities, especially women’s and children’s causes, including The Maryann Gambino Memorial Scholarship, given to a high school graduating senior from the Freehold Regional High School District. Additionally, the Howell Senior Center’s homebound clients of Meals on Wheels are treated to monthly desserts and Thanksgiving Holiday dinners prepared by club members and delivered by the Howell Township Police Department.
