HTEF Takes Message to Facebook
Foundation looking to raise awareness of events to benefit local schools.

Over the past few years the Howell Township Education Foundation (HTEF) has gotten more involved not only in the schools but also in the community.
Two of their bigger events include the annual Race to Educate as well as their Night of the Stars which honors graduates of the Howell Public Schools as well as community members who have made contributions to the district.
In an effort to spread information about their efforts the HTEF recently created a Facebook page to share events and pictures throughout the year.

Founded in 2005 the purpose of the foundation is, “the promotion, sponsorship, and expansion of innovative programs designed to enhance and enrich the curriculum of our public school students,” a statement from the foundation said.
The most recent Race to Educate had more than 200 competitors on the 5K course that winds through the Ramtown section of town and raised more than $7000 for the district. For the second year in a row the Ramtown School got a $1000 grant for having the most participants.

With the start of the school year just over a month away the HTEF is also getting ready for a new year that they hope will include more events for the community to get involved in including a food and wine tasting that is still being planned.
Information about that event an others will now be posted on the foundation’s Facebook page.
