ID Sought On Syringe-Wielding Gas Station Robber: Police
Police released a sketch of the man who is sought in the robbery that happened May 21 near Route 195.

JACKSON, NJ — A man who held a hypodermic syringe to the neck of a gas station attendant is being sought and police have released a sketch of the man in an attempt to find him.
The robbery happened May 21 at the Sunoco at 521 Monmouth Road, also known as Route 537, in Jackson, Capt. Steven Laskiewicz of the Jackson Police Department said.
Police were called to the gas station at 9:13 p.m. and the attendant tol them he was grabbed from behind and the suspect held a hypodermic syringe containing an unknown substance to the attendant’s neck while demanding money from him, Laskiewicz said. The attendant gave the suspect the cash he had on him and the suspect then ran across Monmouth Road and westbound in the direction of Interstate 195, he said.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a white baseball-style hat, a dark-colored jacket or sweatshirt with a longer white shirt hanging out of the bottom, and light colored pants, Laskiewicz said.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Jackson Police Detective Robert Reiff at 732-928-1111.
