HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township police are seeking tips after a man robbed the Domino's Pizza at knifepoint on Wednesday.

Police said the cashier at the Domino's in Roseland Shopping Plaza, 4318 Route 9 south, called 911 at 11:15 p.m. to report the robbery.

She told police the robber was a male whose face was covered with a bandana, and he had what appeared to be dark paint or makeup around his eyes to conceal his skin tone. He handed her a note insinuating that she should open the register and give him money, police said.

The robber told the cashier there were others watching from the outside and advised her to not contact the police. As he left, he acted as if he was communicating through an earpiece. He ran off toward Route 9, she told police.

A Howell K-9 officer tracked the robber behind Popeyes and into the Heritage Point residential development, where the track ended. Video obtained from a nearby business confirmed the path of the robber, police said. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes assisted processing the scene.

On Thursday, Howell detectives investigated further and canvassed the area. They are asking residents to review their security camera footage.

"Anyone with information or even a hunch is encouraged to contact us," police said. "This person needs to be caught before violence ensues."
