Kris Lindemann Takes Top Spot For Rebels at Mustang Classic
Early season wrestling tournament held at Brick Memorial High School
It may not be the Region VI Tournament but the annual Mustang Classic at Brick Memorial is a good early season barometer for where some of the area's top wrestlers are at this point in the year.
Isiah DeGuzman of Timber Creek was named the Outstanding Wrestler at the Mustang Classic tournament after defeating Conner Burkert of St. Peter's Prep, 4-1, in the final at 132 pounds. Earlier he had defeated Ocean's Zack Hertling who was third in the state last year.
Also winning his finals match at 126 pounds was Kris Lindemann of Howell. He pinned Sonny Simonetti of St. Peter's Prep in the third period. Lindemann, who was not seeded, is a freshman.
