Land O' Pines 2nd-Graders Fundraise For Pediatric Cancer
The students prepared a marketing campaign and got donations, then raised $700.

HOWELL, NJ — A group of second-graders in Howell Township took lessons from the classroom to the community recently.
The second-graders at Land O’ Pines Elementary School raised $700 for pediatric cancer research from fellow students and staff at the school on June 4, teacher Cynthia Imperiale said.
The proceeds were given to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to benefit pediatric cancer research.

Prior to the sale, the second-graders began a marketing campaign that involved making advertisement posters and daily announcements to promote the fundraising event.
Food service company Aramark and the students' families donated the supplies, so all proceeds were donated directly to the foundation.
