Lakewood, NJ: Indie road-trip comedy DETOURS, which was largely shot in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, will have its New Jersey premiere on Sunday September 18 at 7 PM at the Strand Theatre in Lakewood. Richard Kind (Inside Out), Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Michael Cerveris (TONY Award for Fun Home on Broadway) and Phyllis Somerville (The Big C) join stars Tara Westwood (Surviving Family) and Carlo Fiorletta (Available: A Modern Day Fairy Tale) in this road trip comedy about starting over at any age.

DETOURS features many popular local sites, including the White Sands Hotel, the recently shuttered Firefly Oceanside Restaurant, The Ark Pub, Used To Be’s Restaurant, Bayside Café, Charlie’s Farm Market, the beach in Lavallette, and the Strand Theatre itself. Several scenes were shot on the roads of Howell, with the assistance of the local police department.
