Man Arrested After Crashing Into Howell Police Car

Police say the man tried to take off after being pulled over on Route 9 in Howell.

HOWELL, NJ — A man was in custody Monday evening after police say he crashed into a Howell Township patrol car on Route 9 south while running away from a motor vehicle stop.

The man has not been identified. Police said the man crashed into the patrol car on Route 9 south of Lanes Mill Road. After the crash, he got out of the car and ran but was caught after a short foot pursuit, police said.

Police said additional details on the incident would be released later.
