Man Put Bag Over 6-Year-Old Girl's Head: Howell Police
Police are searching for a black SUV that was parked nearby for an extended time; the girl screamed and ran into her home, police said.
HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township police are searching for a man and a black SUV after a 6-year-old girl told police the man put a plastic bag over her head Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened on Crooked Stick Court in the Adelphia Greens development, off Route 9 near the Freehold border, Howell police said.
The girl told police she was outside playing with friends and when her friends went inside, she stayed outside to clean up toys.

"That's when the male approached and placed the bag over her head," police said. The girl the man didn't try to grab her, and she screamed and ran into the house.
Police said a black SUV was seen sitting in the parking space for an extended period of time; the suspect was described only as a white male.

Howell police officers have been interviewing neighbors and are hoping residents may have captured something on security cameras.
