Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus Offers No-Cost Lung Cancer Education and Screening Event
Tuesday, November 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States and it is most curable when diagnosed early. In an effort to help identify those who may be at high-risk for developing lung cancer, Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, a Barnabas Health facility, will offer a free lung cancer education and screening event on Tuesday, November 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the hospital’s Outpatient Services area.
All are invited to participate in the Lung Cancer Education and Screening Event. Those who meet the following criteria, between the ages of 45 and 74, a current smoker, or a former smoker who quit smoking within the past 15 years, may also be eligible to participate in the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus lung cancer research study and receive a low-dose CT lung scan, at no cost to the participant.
Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus physicians will provide information on lung cancer, including its signs and symptoms and treatment options. Information about Monmouth Medical Center’s smoking cessation program and support group will also be available. Members of the hospital’s Lung Cancer Screening and Lung Nodule Program will be on-site to assess participant eligibility for those who are interested in the Research Study.

Registration is required. Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, is located at 600 River Avenue in Lakewood. If you believe you may be at risk for lung cancer, call 732-923-6564 to register.
