Motorcyclist Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash In Howell

A 23-year-old Jackson Township man died after his motorcycle left the road and crashed into a utility pole, police said.

HOWELL, NJ — A 23-year-old Jackson man died Friday night when his motorcycle struck a utility pole on Norse Drive in Howell, police said.

Police said that at about 10:27 p.m. Friday, the young man was traveling west on Norse Drive when his motorcycle left the road for an unknown reason and struck the utility pole.

Police did not immediately identify the motorcyclist, but later he was identified as Dakota Neron, 23, of Jackson, according to an Asbury Park Press news story on app.com.

He suffered traumatic injuries, and was given lifesaving measures at the scene by first responders. He was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, but he later died there of his injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Howell Township Police Department.
