NJ 4th District Primary Election Results: Chris Smith Wins
Voting has ended in the Republican Primary race for NJ's 4th Congressional District. Check here for results.

Incumbent Congressman Chris Smith is the projected winner in the Republican primary for New Jersey's fourth congressional district, according to the Associated Press and The Hill. He will face his soon-to-be-determined Democratic challenger on the Nov. 3 general election.
Smith was declared the winner with 22,680 votes (94.83 percent of the vote) with less than half of all precincts reporting. His primary election opponent, Alter Eliezer Richter, received 1,237 votes (5.17 percent of the vote).
The incumbent Congressman has represented New Jersey's fourth congressional district since 1981, serving for twenty terms.

Voting for primary elections in New Jersey have ended, with Democratic candidates David Applefield, Christine Conforti and Stephanie Schmid vying for the nomination in the 4th Congressional District.
The 4th Congressional District includes most of Monmouth County as well as parts of Ocean and Mercer counties.
